London Love!

Spring Break was a few weeks ago for us, and we spent the week in London!  The first question we always get asked is if we took Mason.  Of course!  My feelings on the subject are 1. I can't leave my baby for a whole week yet!  I have never even left him for a whole night.  2. Vacations are about family, and even if Mason won't remember this one, it was important that we did this trip together! 3. I feel like it would have been selfish of Nick and I to take a week long European vacation without our son.  Those are just my thoughts on the whole thing, so, yes, Mason came along, and it went spectacularly!

We left Houston Saturday evening and flew overnight.  This was supposed to be great because Mason would sleep on the way there and be adjusted to the time difference when we landed.  Well, let's just say the flight could have been worse!  Mason slept all of three hours on our ten hour flight...he wasn't screaming by any means, but he was awake which meant he wanted to be entertained and moving.  Nick is a rock star dad and did the majority of the entertaining on the planes, I love him!

With so little sleep, we all took a 4.5 hour nap when we landed and got to our hotel.  After that we were all on London time, enjoyed our first evening, and were ready to start our vacation.  The hotel was gorgeous, the staff was wonderful and accommodating, and we really enjoyed staying there!

We did so much with our 5 days, and we had an amazing vacation!  We have so many pictures, and I tried to narrow it down.  Here are some of our highlights...

Our means of transportation!  The Underground was easy to use and Mason loved riding the "choo-choo" everywhere.

Big Ben

Shakespeare's Globe Theater

Inside the Globe...it snowed while we were there.
Mason slept through the whole tour.  It worked out nice because we got to really listen to all of the info instead of having to entertain him.
He did wake-up at the very end in time for a non-stroller picture though.
Big Ben and The House of Parliament.

The Thames River, and Mason with an apple.  This is how Mason spent the majority of the trip...bundled up in the stroller, but we were able to go to lots of places for him to play!

St. Paul's, we climbed to the top of the dome.  Nick had to carry Mason the whole way up because there is no elevator!  Needless to say, he was tired by the time we were done!

A London photo must!

The London Eye was amazing!  Mason really loved it, and was waving to everyone and everything.

Inside the Tower of London...

Tower Bridge.  We actually went inside the towers and walked across at the very top!

Buckingham Palace!

We were able to watch the changing of the guard while there.

Platform 3/4!  Harry Potter Style!

My Boys!

Walking the streets of London!

There is so much more that I didn't include, but I think you get the idea!  We have some very special memories, and will be able to show pictures of himself all over London since he probably won't remember much of it!

Zoo!

We spent a beautiful weekend about a month ago at the zoo! Mason loved every minute of it, and I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Better Late Than Never...

It has been a very long time since I last updated, and so much has happened!  Be prepared for lots pictures and a quick re-cap of Christmas!

Christmas 2012:

We always do Christmas Eve at my parents.  Mason turned into a present opening pro!  I have no idea how because we had not practiced, and the last time he opened gifts was his birthday in June.

I love this picture!  Mason loves his Grandad, and I'm pretty sure my dad feels the same about him!

Christmas Morning:
Mason went straight to his workbench and tools!  It turned out really cute, and I'm so happy he loves it!

We had a wonderful Christmas at home, and later that afternoon Nick's parents came over with more gifts!

'Tis the Season

We had a fantastic weekend filled with lots of Christmas cheer.  I love the holidays, and Mason is getting old enough to really partake in lots of activities.  I love how interested he is in everything, and I especially love that he learned to say "Ho, Ho, Ho" while wearing his Santa hat!  Here are of the highlights from our weekend...

Saturday we went to the Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens.  It was really crowded, but we had a great time.  Mason loved looking at all the lights, so the crowds didn't bother us all that much.

Mason loves trains so this was his favorite.  There was no getting him to look at the camera.

Sunday the weather here was horrible!  It stormed all day so we made the most of our day indoors.  (Please excuse our clothes...at home with it raining led to comfy clothes)

We made cookies from scratch!  And, yes, he is eating a cookie while making cookies!

He did a great job and was actually pretty into it for a while.

Then, we made our Santa cake (pictures to follow).  Mason was watching it all get mixed.

He decided 'stirring and cooking' water was more fun than actual cooking!

Look, Mom, my hands wet!

Of course, we had to decorate our cookies!

His favorite part!  He waited all day for this!

Re-cap from last weekend...

I took our Christmas pictures this year...

which meant lots of playing with sticks...

throwing leaves...

and walking in the woods with Daddy!  We had a blast!

Like always, we chopped down our christmas tree!  I didn't get many pictures between trying to contain a toddler in a field of trees and trying to help my husband saw down a tree.

I love this kid!  Side note: I also just realized he is wearing the same shirt in almost all of these pictures.  I promise he has lots of clothes.  However, his short sleeve clothing that fits is limited, and we have seriously had no winter this year.   His adorable winter clothes are getting wasted, and he is outgrowing all of his summer clothes.

They had a fun sleigh to take pictures in.  Too bad Mason isn't looking at the camera.

I'm excited that this is my last week of work, and then I get to be off for 2 weeks with my boy!  We have so many more fun things planned, and I just can't seem to get enough of this sweet, adorable boy!
