26 Weeks

 

How Far Along: 26 Weeks

Baby Size:  Still an eggplant, but bigger…12in. and 2lbs.

Total weight gain: Not sure, but it is probably not good after Vegas!

Gender: Boy!  Mason Rhys

Maternity Clothes:  A mix of both, but I found some great non-maternity clothes that fit and are so cute!  I was able to get two tops, a skirt, and a dress that I can wear now and after pregnancy, score!

Sleep: Fabulous this week...I love Spring Break!

Best moment this week:  Spring Break!  No work, just time to relax.

Movement:  Yes, and I love sitting him and watching his movements from the outside.  It is kinda creepy but so amazing!

Food Cravings:  Still tons of fruit, I was really craving watermelon this week. 

What I miss:  Abs...my stomach is getting bigger and bigger, and since I have no torso whatsoever it is only going to grow even more!

What I am looking forward to:  Getting my glucose test over and done with!  There have been issues with it actually happening so hopefully this week we can be done with it!

Milestones:  Mason is opening his eyes now and can respond to our voices via movements!

Pregnancy Symptoms: Backache and I feel like my abs are tearing…which they probably are

Stretch Marks: Not yet. 

Belly Button:  Still an innie, but it is starting to get more flat all the way across.  It doesn’t go in very much anymore.

6 Months!!

How Far Along: 25 Weeks Baby Size:  Eggplant…9in. and 1.7lbs. Total weight gain: Not sure, probably 14-15.  I go to the Dr. on Monday Maternity Clothes:  A mix of both, I found some really cute maternity shorts and a fabulous dress! Sleep:  Pretty Good, I am loving my pregnancy body pillow! Best moment this week:  Lying on the couch while Nick was feeling Mason kick!  He told me he is jealous that I get to feel it all the time…he has no idea, haha! Movement:  This boy is either kicking super low or pushing under my ribs.  I love that I can feel him though! Food Cravings:  Fruit, grapes this week.  I have been a lot thirstier lately and am drinking quite a bit more water.  What I miss:  Being able to twist my top half…twisting around when I drive in reverse has gotten to be pretty uncomfortable. What I am looking forward to:  We go to the Dr. on Monday!  Plus, this weekend is full of family love and we leave on Monday to go to Vegas.  I am in much need of Spring Break! Milestones:  Mason’s nostrils are starting to open up and he is taking breaths. Pregnancy Symptoms: Backache and I feel like my abs are tearing…which they probably are Stretch Marks: Not yet.  On a side note, Nick rubs tummy butter on me like 2 or 3 times a week and every time he does he feels the need to first draw a smiley face, a M, or whatever else he is feeling like that day with the tummy butter.  Gotta love him! Other news:  We are going to Fabulous Las Vegas for Spring Break.  I know, I know, why would a pregnant gal go to Vegas?  Let’s just say I didn’t plan the trip.  Nick and I are going with his parents.  Due to some changing plans this is where the trip ended up being to and I am trying to make the best of it.  We are planning to do lots of relaxing and some activities that are not gambling or drinking so here’s to a wonderful Spring Break!

Sneak Peek!

Some people have been asking for pictures of the nursery.  Well, it is still a hot mess and no where near complete.  However, here are some pictures of the progress we have made.  It is mostly the furniture because we have decided not to paint the walls or anything like that.  Instead, we are going to have accents on the walls and decorate the room with the colors rather than paint the room.

Here is the crib that we chose…

 

I absolutely love it!!  It is exactly what we wanted and will eventually convert into a toddler bed, twin bed, and full size bed.

Here is the dresser that can also be used for the changing table.  We wanted something that would work and look good when we no longer needed a changing table.  I think this is perfect, and we will put a changing pad on top for now.

We also got a tall 5-drawer dresser…

We originally wanted an armoire, but it just wasn’t happening.  We typically like more antique furniture that we can add our own personal touches too, but with time and me not being able to help we decided this was for the best.  I think all of the furniture is gorgeous and couldn’t be happier though!

We have our car seat, which we call the "to go box".  It is this really pretty greenish blue with gray.  We decided to go with a Snugride 35, and Nick is already dying to put the base in his car!

 We went with the matching stroller because...A. they match and B. it was the type we wanted (metrolite).  I love them both and it is so exciting/crazy to see them at the house everyday.  Sidebar: It took us longer to put the stroller together than the crib!

Here are the curtains and curtain rod for my little man’s room…

My mom is working on the bedding, and it is going to be gorgeous!  I am so excited!  I will try and snap a picture of our fabrics so that I can share before the final product is done.  We are just about ready to start actually decorating the room.  I can’t wait to meet our boy, but time is flying by!  I can’t believe I am already 6 months pregnant.

24 Weeks!

How Far Along: 24 Weeks

Baby Size: Ear of corn…8.5 in. and 1.5 lbs.

Total weight gain: Around 13 lbs. I think.
Maternity Clothes: A mix of both, I still have two pairs of low rise pants that fit.

Sleep: Pretty Good, I am loving my pregnancy body pillow!

Best moment this week: As we were walking the dogs through the neighborhood, a man shouted from across the street, “Congratulations!” Plus, I had a fabulous birthday weekend! Also, I got all of the fabric cut for Mason’s bedding so now all that is left is for my mom to sew it!

Movement: Stronger and more frequent each day!

Food Cravings: Ice cream more and more, and I still love fruit. I still have an aversion to most meat too.

What I miss: Bending over with ease, but no real complaints.
What I am looking forward to: A fabulous jam-packed weekend! Friday my best friend and I are going to see Marie at the Houston Ballet, Saturday we are double dating with my little brother and his girlfriend to the rodeo to see Billy Currington, who I love, and Sunday Nick and I are going to see Billy Elliott! Then next weekend begins Spring Break!!
Milestones: It's Viability Day today!! Not that I want Mason making an appearance ANY time soon, but it's nice to know if he did he now has a chance at survival.

Pregnancy Symptoms: The only real symptom is backache…I teach and I am the kind of teacher is up all day talking and walking around and interacting with my kids, and now I am starting to feel it. My lower has been hurting quite a bit from all the standing I do everyday.

Stretch Marks: Not yet, hoping to keep it that way!

Belly Button: Still an innie, but it isn’t looking so good…
