Month in review...

Not only is Mason now 5 months old, so much has happened that I haven't really had a chance to post!

For starters we went to the Texas State Fair this year...

This how our little man started the day...

Fried Salsa!

Turned out to be really good!

Mason learned the full on pouty lip while we were there!
This has to be the cutest thing ever!

Mason and Daddy with their matching hats in front of Big Tex!

The famous corn dogs!

Fried bubble gum...this was completely disgusting!
It was like eating and chewing amoxicillin.

The best thing...fried buffalo chicken in a flap jack!  So good!
Nick and I got one order of things and shared...we didn't want to overload our bodies with so much fried food.

How the little man ended our day!
Halloween 2011:

Mason was a Spartan for Halloween!

Complete with sword, shield, arm cuffs, and sandals!

He liked the sword!

His feet touch the floor in his walker!
He loves it!

Mason: 5 Months

Sleep:
- He typically naps 3 times a day the first 2 are 1-1 1/2 hours and the last is a 30 min. power nap
- My baby has turned into quite the night owl! He doesn't go to bed until 9:15-9:30 and will sleep until about 7 on most nights.  Not the 12 hours of some, but we are not complaining about 9-10 hours straight!

Feeding:
- Still on his same schedule of eating about 6oz. 5 times a day, but we added cereal this month!  It took a couple days but he got the hang of it and seems to love it!
- Next week we are adding some veggies!

Weight and Length:
- 17lbs. and 26"

Diapers and Clothes:
- He is in mostly 3-6 months, but some 3 months still fit and some 6 months fit.  It really depends on the brand...
- Size 2 in diapers still.

Personality/Likes/Miscellaneous:
- This kid loves music!  Doesn't matter if it is me or Nick singing, the TV, or the radio.  He absolutely loves it!
- He is rolling over from his back to his tummy!
- His toes are a huge hit!  He loves to hold them and put them in his mouth.
- He is quite the talker. This kid could babble all day long!
- He got sick for the first time...double ear infection!  He didn't get a fever and was generally still his happy self, but you could tell he just didn't feel good!

We are so lucky to have such a happy baby!  These last 5 months have flown by, and we can't picture our life without our little man!

Weekends, pictures, catch-up...

This post will be mostly pictures since it has been forever since I have posted.  Be prepared for an overload of cuteness and my gorgeous little man!

Mason in a super awesome onesie that Nick's cousin made!

Mason pre-church, rockin' his sunglasses, hat, and shoes!

Mason smiling in his autographed Chabala onesie.  Chabala is our favorite soccer player, and we made this onesie and Mike Chabala signed it for us!

Mason at his first Dynamo game!  He is trying to shove his hands into his mouth...

Enjoying bath time...he loves his bath and being all wrapped up afterwards!

Tummy Time!

Chewing on some rings, his new favorite toy!

This is what happens when my older brother babysits...Nick and I went to see Guys and Dolls and this is what we get a text of!

Mason and his first pairs of Sperrys.  The little blue ones fit now and the brown ones will fit in about 6 months!  They are the cutest!

Nick and I had an official date night!  We went to see Maroon 5 and it was incredible!!

We had an amazing time!

Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins!!

We had some fun with pumpkins this weekend!  We hit up a local pumpkin patch to take some pictures and pick out a pumpkin.

With Daddy!

Mason looking at the camera while I am totally not.  But, look at his adorable first pair of Sperry's and super cute hat!

Family photo!

Then, we had to have some fun with the pumpkin we picked and the hat my mom made...

Trying to figure out what the heck I'm doing to him...

Enjoying his time inside the pumpkin!

Ohhh, what's in here?!

Mason: 4 Months!

Sleep:
- He isn't on a nap schedule, he usually naps 2-3 times a day anywhere from 30 mins to an an hour and a half
- Most nights are pretty good with him sleeping from 8:30 or 9:00 to about 6:00 or 7:00...there are still the occasional nights that he wakes up in the middle of the night, but we are not complaining

Feeding:
- Still on his same schedule of eating about 6oz. 5 times a day, but we go to the Dr. on Friday and he will start getting cereal!

Weight and Length:
- We will find out on Friday from the Dr. and we can't wait to see how much he has grown!
- I would guess between 13-14 lbs. and about 23 inches long.

Diapers and Clothes:
- He is in mostly 3-6 months, but some 0-3 months still fit.  It really depends on the brand...

Personality/Likes/Miscellaneous:
- He doesn't like to sit in the backseat by himself when he is awake!  He likes someone to talk to and entertain him!
- Puts everything in his mouth!
- He is drooling like crazy!  We for sure thing some teeth will appear any day now...he is drooling everywhere and biting down on things.  He now chews on his pacifier more than he sucks on it.
- He has started holding his own bottle, I can't believe how big he is getting!

Mason: 3 Months!

Sleep:

  • He typically sleeps anywhere from 7-9 hours straight at night!  We still have the occasional off night where we have to help him back to sleep, but no complaints.  He goes to bed between 9:30 and 10 and wakes up anywhere between 5:30 and 8.
  • He still takes a few naps during the day.  Depending on how he feels, he will nap 30 mins to an hour between feedings, and he will stay up about 2-2.5 hours.
Feeding:

  • We now have him on a set schedule for feedings.  It is working out great for both him and us!
  • He eats 5 times a day at 7, 10:30, 2, 5:30, and 9.  Then, he goes to bed.
  • He is eating about 5-6oz. from a bottle.

Weight and Length:

  • We won't officially find out from the Dr. until his 4 month appt.
  • I would guess he is around 13 lbs. and 22 inches long.

Diapers and Clothes:

  • He is still wearing a size 1 in diapers.  They fit perfect, and we are definitely Huggies fans!  We feel like they fit the best and "contain" the best!
  • All newborn clothes have been packed away...so sad!
  • 0-3 and 3 month clothes are what he primarily wears.  Old Navy must run a little small because he is in 3-6 months there.

Personality/Likes/Miscellaneous:

  • He is such a happy baby; we can't complain in the least!
  • His acid reflux seems to be doing a bit better!  The Dr. really thinks he will grow out of it between 6-12 months, here's hoping!
  • He has good and bad days with the reflux.  The spit up seems to be less than before, but there are days where it is really bad.  The other night he practically spit up every ounce we fed him during both his 5:30 and 9:00 feedings.  Then, he woke up at 2am pretty upset.  Luckily, those days are few!  We still have to burp him after every ounce and hold him upright 30 mins after eating, and it seems to help tremendously.  The Dr. isn't super concerned because he is gaining weight and never screams or gets upset when he spits up.
  • We got a new play mat that has a piano he can kick with his feet and he absolutely loves it!
  • Getting much better at tolerating tummy time, and he holds his head up like a champ!
  • He loves to stand and sit up!  He has a blast in his door jumper too.
  • Loves to talk all the time, and he will even talk to strangers!  Nick says that is the Santowski in him!

He would smile, and then we would take his picture and he would give us his serious face.  Guess he is practicing to be a model!

With his new best friend, Sophie.
He likes her as a toy, and we will see how it does as a teether when he gets there.

Loving his piano play mat!

Door jumper...he loves to be naked!

Finally playing with toys!  He loves to pull this toy that we have hanging on this car seat!

Slacker...

I have been a huge blogger slacker!  Let's just say this is going to be one interesting school year.  A lot has changed at my school, my district, within the state, and just education in general this year!  Plus, I spent my entire summer enveloped in my new bundle of joy so I was the most unprepared and unorganized I have ever been.  It took me some time to get it together while still being a wife and mom.  I have already forgotten half of what has since I last posted, but here are some pictures to serve a sort of catch-up...

We found the cutest hat!  I love it, and we found an awesome polo that matches perfectly!
Mason playing in his door jumper.  You aren't supposed to use this with a 2.5 month old, but he loves it!  He is holding his head up so well and loves to stand so we just put a pillow behind him, and he went to town!

Let me explain... Nick's parents took a picture of him in this very outfit.  This is what his Cabbage Patch Doll was wearing.  Yes, Nick's parents put him in the doll's clothes and that meant we had to do it as well.  We are lucky we did it when we did because, as you can tell, it is a tad bit snug!  We just said he is a linebacker instead of a wide receiver, haha!

2 months!

Sleep:

  • Getting better and better.  He now wakes up once a night, usually around 3 or 4; however, we don't feed him, we are able to calm him down and get him to go back to sleep!  Hopefully he will be sleeping straight through very soon!
  • He still takes a few naps during the day.  Depending on how he feels, he will nap 30 mins to an hour between feedings, and he will stay up and play a lot more now.

Feeding:

  • About 6-7 times a day.  He will go anywhere from 3-4 hours, during the day it is usually longer and at night he goes less between the last two so he can go all night without eating.
  • He is eating 5oz. from a bottle, and sometimes he wants more!  He is a growing boy!

Weight and Length:

  • Dr. appt. on Friday and we will find out!

Diapers and Clothes:

  • He is now wearing a size 1 in diapers...we are officially out of newborn diapers.  My little man is growing too fast!  We prefer Huggies or the Target brand(these actually hold the best...never had a leak when he is Target diapers, plus they made up a diaper cake we were given so we have bunch that we didn't pay for!)
  • Very few newborn clothes fit anymore, but 3 months are too big.
  • It is very frustrating trying to dress a boy!  There are so many more girl clothes than boy, it isn't fair!
  • The brands that have 0-3 month as a size fit the best.

Personality/Likes/Miscellaneous:

  • He is such a happy baby; we can't complain in the least!
  • Still a bit of a grunter but not as much as before.
  • He now screams when we take the bottle out of his mouth to burp him...food has become even more important to the kid.
  • Is really starting to enjoy his playmat/toys that light up/car seat toys.
  • Not a huge fan of tummy time, but when he tolerates it he does so good at pushing up and holding his head up!
  • Rather than lay down, you prefer to be sitting as upright as possible or 'standing' on someone's lap.
  • Love to make loud noises randomly!
Time has flown by and we love watching Mason grow.  It is so amazing to watch his personality start to show!

Beware...

There are tons of pictures on this post.  I feel like I have some catching up to do and what better way than with pictures!

My best friend took me out for my first post baby trip to Katy Perry!  It was awesome!

Mason loves his baths...especially since we got his turtle to keep him nice and warm the whole time!

Do you see the patch of red hair??

Since I didn't make his bottle fast enough, he decided to give himself a Harry Potter scar.

Since we have been walking so much we decided to buy a jogging stroller so we could keep our regular one in good condition.

Mason is loving his swing now!  He will stare up at the mirror and mobile and eventually fall asleep in it.

Since I can have alcohol, I decided what better way to celebrate than at brunch with the sampler!  It had a mimosa, a strawberry/lemonade/champagne, and cranberry juice and champagne.  It was fabulous; however, I didn't finish all three because it was a bit much for this lightweight!

Mason went swimming for the first time!  He loved it!  Sara, my bestie and his godmomma, got a pool, and it was like a giant bathtub so Mason loved sitting and kicking in the water!

Lately, Mason would rather being sitting up or standing than laying down at all.  So, we figured we would give his bumbo a try and he loved it.  He looked around and held his head up so good!

Sleeping in his swing...
Mason smiling at his Daddy!  We love that he smiles for us now...we are completely in love and obsessed!
