23 Weeks

How Far Along: 23 Weeks

Baby Size:  Papaya, how cute is that, I have a little papaya in me!

Total weight gain: Not sure, but probably a number I don’t like the sound of.

Maternity Clothes:  A mix of both, some things fit and others don’t so maternity clothes kinda fill in the gaps.

Sleep:  Not too terrible this week.

Best moment this week:  Got all of the furniture for the nursery ordered, the crib is actually already put together in the nursery.  Plus, we got all of the fabric for the bedding so my mom can start sewing!  Yesterday, we went to the Dr. and everything looked great.  Heard Mason’s heartbeat and got my belly measured!

Movement:  YES, and I can’t wait for Nick to be able to feel it.

Food Cravings:  Still fruit and ice cream.

What I miss:  Not too much, pregnant life is pretty good.

What I am looking forward to:  My birthday weekend and then next weekend is jam packed with Rodeo, ballet, and a musical!

Milestones:  Feeling my little man kick!

Pregnancy Symptoms: I feel like my stomach is literally stretching, like my abs are sore.  Nothing horrible though.

Stretch Marks: Not yet, hoping to keep it that way!

Belly Button:  Still an innie, but I am worried about what the future holds…

22 Weeks

I look huge all over, and I promise that is not really the case.  This is definitely not the most flattering picture!

How Far Along: 22 Weeks

Baby Size:  Spaghetti Squash, 1.2 lbs.

Total weight gain: 11 lbs.  I don’t particularly like the sound of it, but it is at the low end of what I should gain.  So, I am still healthy and on target so no worries!

Maternity Clothes:  A mix of both, but maternity clothes are starting to become more and more comfortable.

Sleep:  Some good nights, some bad. I am usually able to get comfortable, but I have issues falling asleep and staying asleep some nights.

Best moment this week:  Someone stopping me at the store to ask how far along I was, that must mean I look pregnant now!  That is so exciting to me!

Movement:  YES, finally!  I have been able to feel Mason kick a few times a day for about a week now.  Nick can’t feel him yet (damn placenta), but the days he can are fast approaching!

Food Cravings:  Of course, still fruit and ice cream.

What I miss:  Being able to find cute, reasonably priced clothes that fit.  Maternity clothes can get very expensive and it is definitely not all attractive.

What I am looking forward to:  My birthday on Friday, having all of the nursery furniture, and my Dr. appt. on Thursday.

Milestones:  Feeling my little man kick!

Pregnancy Symptoms: Round ligament pains and some back ache, all in all no real complaints though.

Stretch Marks: Not yet, hoping to keep it that way!

Belly Button:  Still an innie, but I am worried about what the future holds…

Nothing but love...

So this past weekend was a big one for Nick and me.  Not only was it Valentine’s Day but it was also our wedding anniversary!  We got married the 13th, a Friday the 13th to be exact.  It wasn't the original date but life happens and this turned out to be the date of our fabulous wedding.  At first we weren’t exactly thrilled about it being so close to V-day, but now we have decided that we are fans!  Deals, specials, sales all for our anniversary.  Plus, we get to extend our celebration of love for an extra day (cheesy I know, but true)!

Friday:

I got these gorgeous flowers delivered to work with a sweet card.  Then, we headed to a spa for a couples massage, pedicure, and chocolate covered strawberries and champagne! The place was fabulous and made it so I could have a prenatal massage and OJ instead of champagne!  It made for a wonderful evening with the best husband ever.

Saturday:

This yummy treat arrived at our doorstep in the morning.  I really do have the best husband ever!!  We went to our all time favorite restaurant where we always go for our anniversary.  We had a fabulous dinner, they put flowers on our table for us, and they gave us a free dessert.  A lovely, lovely evening!

Sunday:

We cooked ourselves a wonderful 3 course dinner.  We enjoyed cooking and spending the day together, not to mention the weather was gorgeous!

French Onion soup in our fancy little crocks!

Filet Mignon, asparagus, baked potatoes, and of course sparkling grape juice!

Cheesecake and coffee (don't worry it was only one tiny cup)!

I love my husband to pieces more and more everyday and our anniversary and Valentine’s Day celebrations were wonderful!  To make the weekend even more amazing I felt my baby boy kick for real for the first time!!

21 Weeks...

How far along: 21 Weeks! Crazy that I am now more than halfway done.

Baby size: About 7 in. and 11oz.  The size of a banana!

Total weight gain/loss: Probably around 8-9lbs. Not totally sure.

Maternity clothes: A mix of both, this cold weather isn’t helping!  I refuse to buy any maternity sweaters and such since I will be my biggest in the spring and summer, but it just won’t warm up!

Sleep: Nick decided I needed a special pregnant lady pillow so we bought the Boppy total body pillow.  It has definitely helped me to get more comfortable, but even though I am exhausted I can’t seem to fall asleep and stay asleep well at night.

Gender: Boy!  Mason Rhys!

Best moment this week: As many know we are season ticket holders to the Houston Dynamo; therefore, Nick and I made a onsie for our favorite player Mike Chabala that says Chabala is my homeboy.  Nick sent him a picture of it on twitter, and he loved it.  Then we went to the ground breaking for their new stadium and some players were there including Chabala.  He came over, told us he loved the onsie and couldn’t wait to autograph it, and then asked if he could give Mason the soccer touch!  He is the first non-family member to touch my bump, but it was ok since he asked for permission first!  Another thing Nick told me I had to post was that I told him that I am loving being pregnant and getting to call Mason by his name, it is like I have a friend with me everywhere I go.  He thought that was hysterical and that I should share.

Movement: I have had some of the “butterfly” feelings that they say you get first, and according the Dr. only another week until I should feel those kicks for real!

Food cravings: I still love fruit but no real cravings…I am a boring pregnant woman I guess, haha.

What I miss: Life is good, don’t really miss anything!

What I am looking forward to: Sunday Nick and I will have been for married for two years!!  Plus, Valentine’s Day is on Monday and then next weekend Nick’s mom is coming to town to order all of the nursery furniture that his parents are so graciously buying for us!

Milestones: Mason’s taste buds are developed and he is swallowing so he is tasting what I am eating…crazy to me that the amniotic fluid will change taste based on what I am eating!

Pregnancy Symptoms: My face has decided to break out, and I don't mean a couple of zits!  There are more pimples on my face then I think I have ever had in my life.  It is horrible and makeup is now my new best friend.  At first the pregnancy gave me awesome skin so I am hoping that comes back soon!

Half Way There...

Please excuse my hair and how gross I look...we were cleaning the house.

How far along: 20 weeks...halfway done

Baby size:  10 inches head to heel, about the length of a banana

Total weight gain/loss:  Didn't really gain much this week, I am still up about 7lbs.

Maternity clothes?  A mix of both, I still have two pairs of pants I can wear and some tops, but I love my maternity jeans and have some cute maternity tops I wear occasionally

Sleep: Not bad, still getting used to not sleeping on my stomach or back though.

Best moment this week:  No work due to inclement weather...it was fabulous to have an extra day off!

Movement:  I now think I may have felt Mason move, but I am not 100% positive.  I should be able to feel him really soon though...stupid placenta all being in the way!

Food cravings:  Fruit, of course, and ice cream.  Nick is thrilled with my ice cream!

What I miss:  Nothing really...I guess a closet full of clothes that fit.

What I am looking forward to:  Next weekend marks Nick and I's two year anniversary!  Plus, there is Valentine's Day, a Dr. appt., and my birthday.

Milestones:  Making it through the first half

Pregnancy Symptoms:  The food aversions are starting to kick in.  Meat sounds pretty disgusting to me now, and it is making it hard for Nick and I to plan out our weekly dinners.

19 Weeks!

I am really bad about posting these on time, but here it is...

How far along: 19 Weeks!

Baby size: About 6 1/2 in.  The size of a mango!

Total weight gain/loss: Probably between 7-8lbs. I have been close to a pound a week in my second trimester.

Maternity clothes: A mix of both.  I finally found some tops that are not crazy, super long on me!!  Being short and having no torso whatsoever makes finding maternity tops a bit of a challenge.

Sleep: Not horrible, not fabulous.  Just ok I guess.

Gender: Boy!  Mason Rhys!

Best moment this week: Calling my baby boy by his name!  We also registered for little man!
Please ignore how awful I look!

Movement: Still waiting… I am really starting to go crazy waiting, especially because I know he is a kicking wiggle worm from the ulatrasound!

Food cravings: Still fruit and strawberries are starting to come back into season which is making extremely happy.  The farm we like to go to already has several plants producing so I got some fabulous ones this weekend!

What I miss: Nothing really!

What I am looking forward to: We don’t have another Dr. appt. until the end of the month; however, our 2 year anniversary, Valentine’s Day, and my birthday are all this month!

Milestones: I am finally starting to look pregnant instead of fat!

Pregnancy Symptoms: We still work out with our trainer, which I love because my arms, legs, and butt still look pretty awesome if do say so myself, but I get tired and out of breath much faster than I used to.
