Mason: 10 months!

Can't believe we are in the double digits and in a mere 2 months my baby will be a year old.  It has all gone so fast!!  Sorry for all of the pictures that are to follow, but he was in such a good mood for this photo shoot and was playing it up for the camera...

We were having fun, and needless to say, I got no laying down pictures!  Then, he wanted to play on his daddy's old wooden rocking horse...

"Onward!" I love that he looks like he is riding a real horse. 

Sleep:

- Naps are the same with him napping 2 times a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  They each last about two hours.

- At night he has started to sleep even longer, going 12-12 1/2 hours straight!  It has been amazing!

- He goes to bed between 7:15-7:30 and wakes up between 7:00-7:45 most days.

Feeding:

-He has 4 5oz. bottles, and then he will eat anywhere from 1-4 oz.  before bed and 3 solid meals.

- He has snacks throughout the day as well.  He loves to feed himself!

- He actually drank his formula from a sippy cup instead of a bottle a couple of times.

- He is starting to refuse baby food more and more.  He will usually eat out of the pouches because he can hold it and suck it out on his own.

Weight and Length:

- 21 lbs. 13 oz. and around 28 3/4" 

- 60th percentile for both

Diapers and Clothes:

- Mostly 9-12 and 9 month. Ocasionally a 12 month will fit. 

- Size 3 in diapers still...we prefer Huggies little movers.

Personality/Likes/Miscellaneous:

- He is a speed crawler and gets wherever he wants really fast!

- He pulls up on anything possible, and loves to stand. He has started to let go and just stands there for a bit, and will walk along furniture but has no real desire to try and walk yet.  He is stubborn and has no patience (I have no idea where he got that from) so he sees crawling as his fastest option instead of trying to walk.

- He is clapping his hands and waving.

- He is such a genuinely happy baby...he laughs, talks, and smiles ALL day!  We are so lucky and blessed!

Picture update

I am blogging from my phone...so here is a short update on life with pictures!

First picture is what they brought Mason at Mimi's! So awesome, without asking they brought him oranges, Cheerios, a bib, and wet wipe. It is one of the most kid/baby friendly restaurants we have been to!

Next up, Mason has mastered the straw!! He loves it and the learner cup by Playtex was great.

Mason hasn't been eating very well this week, but he loved the grilled nuggets and fruit cup from Chik-fil-a!!

Mason: 9 months!

I am loving watching Mason grow into this incredible little person.  He amazes daily, and we are so blessed to have this boy in our lives!  I can't even believe we are only 3 months away from him turning 1!  Our photo shoots are getting interesting...

Sleep:

- Naps are the same with him napping 2 times a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  They each last an hour and a half to two hours.

- He has been really consistent about sleeping 11 hours straight through the night!  It has been so wonderful!

- He goes to bed about 7:30 and wakes up between 6:30-7:00.

Feeding:

-He has 4 5oz. bottles, and then he will eat anywhere from 1-4 oz.  before bed and 3 solid meals.

- He has snacks throughout the day as well.  He loves to feed himself!

- He is becoming less interested in the bottle and hasn't been finishing all of his bottles.

- He is slowly starting to refuse baby food so we are struggling to figure out what exactly to feed him to make sure he is getting proper nutrition.

- The Dr. said from watching him and we told her that he is clearly going to have an independent personality!  This means he wants to everything by himself already.  Seriously!?!? This kid is only 9 months old and already doesn't want mama's help, how sad!

Weight and Length:

- 21 lbs. 3 oz. and around 28 1/2" 

- 60th percentile for both

- Definitely slowing down on the weight with all of his moving.

Diapers and Clothes:

- Some 6 month stuff still fits

- Mostly 6-9 and 9 month

- Size 3 in diapers

Personality/Likes/Miscellaneous:

- He is a crawling machine...he does this speed crawl when he gets excited and wants something!

- He pulls up on anything possible, and loves to stand. He has started to let go and just stand there for a bit.  He looks like a little surfer!

- New trick...fish lips!  It is the cutest face!

- He is clapping his hands and waving.

- I have yet to get a picture, but he now does this thing when he gets excited...he gets this giant grin, waves his arms, and squeals.  The cutest thing ever!!

- We love this little boy so much and feel blessed every day to have such a happy, healthy, little man!!

- He got his first major cut/bruise.  He hit the corner of an end table and got a cut near his eyelid.  It bled some and of course he screamed some, but overall it wasn't that bad.  We were actually going to the Dr. that day so she checked it out and cleaned it up a bit!

Mason: 8 months!

It has gotten so hard to take his picture now!  This kid doesn't want to sit still for anything!  Therefore, these were some of the best pictures, and I took them with my phone because it was easier at the time.

Sleep:

- Naps are the same with him napping 2 times a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  They each last an hour and a half to two hours.

- Bed time has been interesting the last 2 weeks.  First he got sick, another ear infection (pretty sure this kid will end up having to get tubes in his ears).  During this time he basically didn't sleep. It was not fun!!

- Now though he has pushed up his bed time.  All of his crawling and pulling up and going non-stop has worn this kid out by 7:30!  So he has been so easy to put to bed and sleeping a good 11 hours.  It has been fabulous!

Feeding:

-He has 5 5oz. bottles a day and 3 solid meals.

- He has snacks throughout the day as well.  He loves to feed himself!

- He is becoming less interested in the bottle and hasn't been finishing all of his bottles.

Weight and Length:

- 20 lbs. and around 28" 

Diapers and Clothes:

- Some 3-6 month stuff still fits

- 6 month fits well

- Most 9 month outfits too, some are little big still

- Size 2 in diapers still, but we are about out and will be moving to 3's in a couple of days

Personality/Likes/Miscellaneous:

- I think this has been my absolute favorite month so far!

- He is a crawling machine

- He pulls up on anything possible, and loves to stand.  My little dare devil is now 

even holding on with one hand, making me so nervous!

- He has learned to click his tongue, and does it all the time!

- He says mama, dada, and hey.  He doesn't necessarily know what it means, but he said mama first!

- We have been giving him more "real" people food instead of just baby food.  He loves to feed himself and try new things. This kid loves to eat!

- He is such a happy baby, and we can't get enough of him!  I love him so much!

Eleven

As we all know, I am not exactly blogger of the year.  I was tagged in the 11 thing that was going around by Emily, and it has taken me this long to actually do it.  Since I am so behind I am going to skip out on tagging others.  Here we go: 11 Random things about me: 1. When you first walk into our house there is a formal living and dining room.  It has been empty for the 4 years we have had the house until now!!  I finally got my Amish dining room table and a gorgeous love seat from World Market, we are making progress! 2.  I was surprised and extremely blessed to receive a sizeable bonus for how well I and my students did last year when it came to standardized testing! 3.  Nick and I are planning our 2013 Spring Break trip!  Yes, we are planners!  March of 2013 will be spent in London, and I can’t wait! 4.  I’m kind of addicted to Starbucks…like, I will go to Target because they have a Starbucks not because I need anything.  Sad, I know! 5.  I have been thinking a lot about my profession and career lately, and feel as though I may need to make a change. 6.  Being a language arts teacher and all, I am ecstatic about the fact that with toys all over the floor Mason goes for the book!! 7.  My husband would never admit it, but he likes to watch Khloe and Lamar with me.  They are the only “Kardashians” we like, and he told me the other day that when it comes back on not to watch it without him. 8.  My favorite food is mashed potatoes, I could seriously eat them everyday!  Especially my momma’s!! 9.  We were originally going to cancel our cable, but we are in love with our DVR!  It is more about the DVR than the cable for us.  Plus, we have the cheapest package and we have U-Verse with AT&T so it really isn’t that bad. 10. I am in love with Tori and Dean!  Embarrassing I know, but I love their family dynamic and how genuine they are.  Their kids are so funny too! 11.  Even though we have only been at our house 4 years and we bought it new, I already want to start looking for a different house and move. And my 11 answers:1. What’s your go-to snack?  Granola Bar 2. What is the first thing you do when you get home from work/school?  Ask Mason if he had a good day, and then I pee 3. What is a guilty please of yours?  Reality TV and ice cream 4. How many serious boyfriends did it take to get to Mr. Right?  There was only one before Nick! 5. If you could pick a different state to live in, what would it be?  Either Illinios or Washington (the state, not the city) 6. What is one type of show you hate watching on TV?  History stuff, Nick likes to watch the History Channel shows about wars and generals…I hate it! 7. What time do you get up in the mornings?  6:00.  8. Would you rather hot weather or cold?  Cool…I love fall! 9. What is the most recent movie you’ve watched?  The Change Up 10. What is your typical weekend made up of?  Relaxing, hanging out with Mason and Nick. being with family. 11. Do you make your bed/tidy up every day?  I clean all the time, it really never ends.  Our bed is very rarely made though.

Mason: 7 months!

An extra day off of work means that Mason's 7 month post is right on time!  However, in case you couldn't tell from the previous post I am behind!  Like seriously way behind!  I was getting frustrated with myself but I decided I would rather be living my life than blogging about it.  So, hopefully I will get around to sharing Mason's first Christmas, our amazing Hawaiian vacation, and Mason's 6 month pictures and our family Christmas pictures.  But, if I don't I am ok with it.  So without further ado, here is a snapshot of my little man at 7 months! Plus, a tease at the previously mentioned happenings!

Sleep:

- Naps are the same with him napping 2 times a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  They each last an hour and a half to two hours.

- He has been doing really well in the evenings going to bed between 8-9 and waking up between 7-8.

- He didn't sleep well for about a week after his 6 month shots, but other than that has been doing really well!

Feeding:

-He has 5 5oz. bottles a day and 3 solid meals.

- We have started making his baby food...more on that another time!

Weight and Length:

- Probably still close to the same as 6 months

- 18 1/2lbs. and 27 1/4"

- 65th and 67th percentiles 

Diapers and Clothes:

- He is in mostly 3-6 months, but a few 3 months still fit and 6 months fit and even some 9 month stuff fits.  It really depends on the brand...

- Size 2 in diapers still.

Personality/Likes/Miscellaneous:

- While it seems like not much has changed this kid grows up more and more each day!

- He sits up all by himself now...no more laying on his stomach or back anymore.  As soon as you lay him down he pops up!

- He makes pretty much all of the vowel sounds and loves to talk!

- He doesn't like to lay on his little recliner thing in the bath tub anymore, he would much rather be sitting up!

- Just started to attempt a sippy cup...let's just say it pissed him off.  Glad we are already starting this process because it could get ugly in the end!

Mason: 6 Months! Extremely Late!

This post is like a month late, oops!  Let's just say being a mom, wife, daughter, friend, and a teacher can be overwhelming and doesn't leave a lot of time to play on the computer.  Any free time I have would much rather be devoted to this irresistible little guy!

Sleep:

- He naps 2 times a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  They each last an hour and a half to two hours.

- He has been doing really well in the evenings going to bed between 8-9 and waking up between 7-8.

- We did have about a week of waking up in the middle of the night due to teething and eating more solids.  Not fun, but we survived!

Feeding:

-He has 5 5oz. bottles a day and 3 solid meals

Weight and Length:

- 18 1/2lbs. and 27 1/4"

- 65th and 67th percentiles 

Diapers and Clothes:

- He is in mostly 3-6 months, but a few 3 months still fit and 6 months fit and even some 9 month stuff fits.  It really depends on the brand...

Personality/Likes/Miscellaneous:

-He is trying so hard to crawl...he has the rock and the scoot and down!

-Loves trying to feed himself...yogurt melts are a huge hit.

- He is quite the talker. This kid could babble all day long!

So we were taking our usual monthly picture, and then Mason decided it was time to do some modeling!  I think this kid may have a modeling career in his future...
