Bathroom...

I recently did some adding and changing to our guest bathroom.  There are still a couple more things to do, but I love the way it has turned out.  I found an antique perfume tray (which I painted black)and perfume bottle for the counter, and then I added some Ross finds which have homemade red bath salts and some body wash in them.
Then, I was not happy with the original shower curtain.  It was too whimsical, and I want a more shabby chic feel.  This is still not the perfect one, but it is much better.  Plus, it was only $15!

The next thing on the list is to frame  the mirror, but who knows when that will happen...

P.S. Magnetic paint sucks!  I had mentioned that we were working on a magnet board, and we are but it is taking forever!  The paint says to use three light coats, but it was totally not magnetic after three coats!  So after like 20 coats it is starting to get magnetic; however, we are about to give up and just put the chalkboard paint over it, and we will only have a chalkboard instead of a magnetic chalkboard. GRRRR!

Anniversary!

So, this weekend was not only Valentine's Day for Nick and I, but also our 1 year anniversary!  Valentine's day was still celebrated, but was overshadowed by the anniversary.  We had a fabulous weekend...

Heart pancakes for breakfast!

Our favorite restaurant (Papa's Steakhouse) had flowers on our table, and brought us a dessert that said Happy Anniversary on the plate!

Year old wedding cake, that I swear was way better looking on the actual day!  I love Homies, so we put the wedding couple Homies on top, haha! Surprisingly, it still tasted pretty good; however, we only ate one bite.

It was a wonderful anniversary, and to quote Nick (who quoted a children's book to me): I'll love you forever
                     I'll like you always
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who I will love forever, for always, and no matter what!

Young Love

I know that when you are young and have a boyfriend or girlfriend it doesn't really mean that much.  However, I did not realize how ridiculous it still is even in middle school.  Today I found a note that said "BUTTHEAD! You ignore me!!"  I had to laugh, and I know exactly who wrote it and who it was meant for.  To be in a relationship when you are 13 must be so stressful, haha!

Here is the first picture that came up when I searched middle school love...AWESOME!

Teacher Time

I have to brag on a couple of my students!  Two of my seventh graders placed in an essay contest!!  So, Friday we took a trip to the University of St. Thomas (my Alma Mata) for the awards ceremony.  They got their awards from the Cardinal and I am so proud of them.  It also feels good, because I feel like I am actually doing my job...you can't help but question yourself when you teach middle school kids everyday!

Saturday I took my PPR Exam, I have no clue how I did...I should find out this week.  I am just so glad that I am done with all the testing!  I have another observation tomorrow, but I am not worried about it, the lady is super nice and usually has really positive feedback.  Can't wait to be completely done with my alternative certification!

BUSY

It feels like Nick and I have been running around for weeks!  We had a hectic week, where it felt like we didn't see each other much; however, our weekend was full of wonderful time spent together!  Also, we finally got our map on the wall in the office...

I got the frame all spray painted, and Nick was very helpful in getting the map all put in, as well as, hanging it for me (he really is wonderful).  Now our big blank wall in the office looks like this...

I love it, and while the wall still needs more, I am so excited to have the map up.  We are putting in pins for everywhere we travel together.  It isn't very much yet, but we hope to change that dramatically!

We have Italy and the U.S.A.

Also, this weekend we found this awesome farm that has like its own grocery store.  They have all kinds of fruits and vegetables, and it was all so fresh!

This weekend I take my PPR exam for my teaching certification, which sucks, and we are going to finish the magnetic/chalk board in the office.  On another note, two of my students won an essay contest!!  I am so excited for them, and I feel like I am actually doing my job!

Sweet Husband!

Nick is so sweet and awesome! This morning he had coffee and tea waiting for me to take to work! He also had an ego muffin top, but I ate that before the picture...

I can't wait for this weekend...Friday I will be alone for a while since Nick is working late, but Saturday after we help my brother, Eric, move we are going to run house errands, which is fun when you have a house to decorate.

Weekends...

Nick and I had a full weekend, and while I was planning on having a ton of pictures, my camera decided to die. So, a synopsis will have to do...

Friday, Nick got off of work a little early and we headed straight to my parent's house. We had family game night with my parents, both brothers, sister-in-law, and nephews. Pizza and games and fun! We played The Game of Things, and it is awesome...I highly recommend it, it is good for a group of people and definitely not for kids. We also played the longest game of Life EVER! It was good to have us all together, and we had so much fun.

Saturday, Nick and I had lunch reservations at Artista. It was pretty good, and was even better since we had a $50 gift certificate. We have season tickets to a lot of theater stuff, and that is why we had the gift certificate. So, after lunch we went to A Chorus Line and it was awesome. Not one of my favorites, but still a great show! We have season tickets to Theater Under The Stars, Broadway Across America, and the Houston Ballet. TUTS is totally the best if you are interested in this kind of stuff! Afterward, we went to church with my brother, Eric, and then headed home. We had a quiet night in watching football playoffs.

Sunday, we had planned on doing some errands but got a call from my brothers to come out to Crosby to hang out and watch football. So, we had breakfast, which consisted of eggs from my brother's chickens. They were ridiculously good! Anyway, we did a couple of errands and then went out to see the family again. It was a great lazy Sunday with family!

Awesome weekend, and I am a teacher so I have today off too! It works out good because now I can get some things done, and I am already half way through my to-do list!
