24 weeks with Oliver

How Far Along: 24 Weeks

Baby Size: Ear of corn…8.5 in. and 1.5 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all maternity unless I am lounging or in work-out clothes.

Sleep: Pretty Good, I am loving my pregnancy body pillow!

Best moment this week: Mason telling me he is ready for Oliver to be born!  He seems to really understand that there will be a baby here soon.

Movement: Nick can feel it, and you can see my belly moving now!  I love this part!

Food Cravings: Not much of anything.

What I miss: Bending over with ease, but no real complaints.

What I am looking forward to: Dr. appt. on Tuesday and closing on our old house.  We are officially apartment living while our custom home is being built.

Milestones: It's Viability Day today!! Not that I want Oliver making an appearance ANY time soon, but it's nice to know if he did he now has a chance at survival.

Pregnancy Symptoms: Brackston Hicks have already started and I am still getting round ligament pains.  Nothing horrible though.

Belly Button: Still an innie, but it isn’t looking so good…

Old house, apartment, new house...

A lot has been happening with our living situation.  We have wanted to move for sometime now, and with the upcoming arrival of our new bundle of joy we figured we better just do it.  I love my house!  I mean, I love everything about it.  Our main reason for moving was the backyard.  Being in a subdivision, it just wasn't enough for two dogs, a giant swing set, the garden Mason has been begging for, and eventually two boys to run around and play in.  We also decided we really wanted either one more room or a game room to help contain the ever growing amount of stuff that we seem to accumulate. Here are some pictures from our current home...

There are so many things I am going to miss about this house!  Plus, it is where Mason has grown up, and so many of his firsts have happened here.  Well, after much looking and debating, we decided that we were pretty much never going to be able to find a house in the area we wanted, at a price we could afford, that met all of our criteria.  This meant we were going to leave our desired area and go about 15 minutes further south.

We found this beautiful new subdivision that builds on one acre lots.  The homes are gorgeous, the area is very quiet and secluded, and it would allow us to get pretty much everything we wanted!  We met and talked with the builder, and he made us feel really comfortable with the decision to move out there.  So, we listed our house, picked our new lot and floor plan, put down our earnest money, and are moving to Magnolia Bend.  My only real hesitation is the schools in the area.  I don't really want Mason to go to the schools he would be zoned to, but Nick and I have also discussed sending him to private school anyway.  Our move has pretty much made the decision for us now that he will go to private school, as well as Oliver when he is born.

So, our house was listed and has recently sold, and we have until June 23rd to be out.  We have been crazily packing boxes, figuring our where to store things, and more importantly where we are going to live.  Our new house won't be ready until November, so that means we will be apartment living for at least 6 months, and will have to bring Oliver home to an apartment.  It also means we will be moving with a one month old and three year old...fun.

21 weeks with Oliver Jude!

How far along: 21 Weeks! While I feel great, I also like I have been pregnant forever already.

Baby size: About 7 in. and 11oz.  The size of a banana!

Maternity clothes: Mostly maternity with a few exceptions.

Sleep: Overall, pretty good.  I do have to switch sides a lot, but I am sleeping better now than I was before.

Gender: Boy!  Oliver Jude! So excited for Mason to have a brother.

Best moment this week: Getting to call my little man by name!  Also, Mason has been telling everyone he is going to have a brother.

Movement: Definitely some kicking and moving around now.  It is getting stronger and more consistent each day!  I love this part!

Food cravings: There was one day where I just had to have wings!  Luckily, I haven't had any heartburn with this pregnancy, and the wings were exactly what I wanted!

What I miss: Life is good, don’t really miss anything!

What I am looking forward to: Friday is my last day of work.  Can't wait for school to be out for the summer so I can hang out with Mason.  It is hard to believe this will be the last summer with just the two of us.

Milestones: Oliver’s taste buds are developed and he is swallowing so he is tasting what I am eating…crazy to me that the amniotic fluid will change taste based on what I am eating!

Pregnancy Symptoms: I have had some wonderful zits on my face making me match my junior high kids.  The round ligament pains are still pretty bad too.  Nothing too terrible though!

Halfway with number 2!

Picture to come...

How far along: 20 weeks...halfway done

Baby size:  10 inches head to heel, about the length of a banana

 Maternity clothes?  Mostly maternity

Sleep: Not bad, still getting used to not sleeping on my stomach or back though.

Best moment this week:  Long weekend with my boys, accepting an offer on our house, and securing an apartment and storage unit until our house is built.

Movement:  Here and there, waiting for it to get stronger.  I definitely felt the baby in my ribs though.

Food cravings:  Ice cream!

What I miss:  Not running out of breath so easily.

What I am looking forward to:  Gender!!  Find out tomorrow!

Milestones:  Making it through the first half

Pregnancy Symptoms:  My face is starting to break out, and I am definitely more moody (according to my wonderful husband).

19 weeks with #2

How far along: 19 Weeks!

Baby size: About 6 1/2 in. and 8 oz. The size of a mango or an heirloom tomato!

Maternity clothes: In public, it is mostly all maternity.  At home, usually athletic shorts and t-shirts that are not maternity.

Sleep: Not horrible, not fabulous.  Just ok I guess.

Gender: May 28th, and I can't wait.

Best moment this week: Lots of laying around doing nothing.  Because of the awful cold I got, I didn't do much of anything which is a huge change of pace for me.  It was really nice to not really do much of anything.

Movement: Here and there, not consistent or constant yet.  I can't wait for the big kicks that Nick can feel!

Food cravings: The only thing was a random one day craving for a Big Red soda.  I don't even know that last time I had one, but I needed it one evening and it was amazing.

What I miss: Not being out of breath so easily.  This bump starts right under my boobs, and I feel like my lungs are being squished.

What I am looking forward to: Anatomy ultrasound in a week!  Can't wait to find out the gender!

Milestones: Looking pregnant enough that people feel comfortable approaching me and asking me about it.  Not to mention the baby's arms and legs are in proportion and major brain development has occurred.

Pregnancy Symptoms: Round ligament pains still and being out of breath.  Nothing too terrible or crazy though.

18 weeks with #2

How Far Along: 18 weeks!

Size of baby: Baby is the size of a sweet potato or bell pepper and around 7oz.

Maternity Clothes:  Mostly maternity.  I did wear a non-maternity top to work the other day, and I still have some dresses and skirts I can wear.

Gender: We won't find out for 2 more weeks.  It is driving me crazy because at this point with Mason we already knew.

Movement: Every now and then I think I feel something, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks there will be no doubt.

Sleep: Not terrible, I busted out my pregnancy pillow, and it makes a huge difference.

What I miss: Being able to breathe.  This baby seems to be up higher than Mason, and the bump starts right under my boobs.  Because of this, the baby is pushing up on my lungs, and I am out of breath so much faster than I used to be.

Cravings: So strange, but nothing really.  This pregnancy hasn't had many cravings.

Symptoms: Round ligament pains are still pretty bad, but that is about it.  I did get a lovely cold that is driving me crazy and wearing me down though.  The bad part is that I can't really take much for it.

Best Moment This Week: Enjoying mother's day with my boys, my momma and mother-in-law, and some friends.
